Speed on Wheels is a brand new show aimed at delivering what kit car enthusiasts have been asking for over the last few years - more action! The result is an event which is jam-packed with all manner of different activities, most importantly two (yes two!) different circuits with constant action on both days. One is devoted to private enthusiasts wishing to try their cars on the track, while the other is devoted to manufacturers who will be offering spectacular high speed rides to prospective customers or those simply looking for the ultimate thrill.
If you want to put your car through it paces, you can either pre-book or simply turn up on the day and pay. It really is that simple. Please be aware that you will need to bring your own helmets.
Manufacturers will also have static displays either in the large exhibition marquee or in their own display areas and there will, of course, be a large area set aside for clubs and private individuals to display their cars.
But there's so much more at Speed on Wheels. This will also be a great day out for the rest of the family. The Bruntingthorpe aerodrome is home to the Cold War jet collection, with lots of wonderful aircraft which you can walk around. And there's more. Here's just a taster of what to expect. - 4 x 4 Rides - Excellent 4 x 4 rides for all the family on the demanding off-road track course.
- Go-Karts – Permanent, purpose-made track will be in action for adults and children over 16 years of age.
- Ariel Atoms – A racing experience not to be missed. Passenger laps in the awesome Legend replica hot rod race cars. Booking advisable.
- Autosprint Course – Hold on to your helmet for this action-packed course!
- Track Sessions – Half-hour sessions. Book in your passenger too. Novice and Lady Driver sessions available.
- Quarter-mile sprint – If booked in advance will secure your place on this sprint of a lifetime!
- Manufacturer rides will be in full force during the weekend. You can book in advance for your favourite ‘Speed on Wheels’ car ride that you’ve always dreamt about.
- Trade stands - Visit Trade Valley and get those extra special parts and bits to make your car ‘stand out in the crowd’.
- Pitstop challenge – ‘Speed on Wheels’ literally! Wheel changing competition. Trophy for the fastest club!
- Motor Bike display – Watch this man go! A motor-bike display that you just can’t miss.
- Children’s Entertainment - Keep them happy with Go-karts suitable for ages 4 to 9 and little off-roaders suitable for 4 to 12 year olds. Mum or Dad can go too! Inflatable slide and lots more.
- Evening Entertainment for campers – Come and join Complete Kit Car and show organiser, Limelight Exhibitions, on Saturday evening and enjoy a hog roast and some cool music.
- Cavalcade will take place on Sunday.
